With views from the bedrooms, bar and restaurant across to the Isle of Wight and the Purbecks, you may not want to leave. For those who do want to explore, there's plenty on the doorstep and further afield.

Wander down to the beach and find a sheltered spot for a picnic, paddle in the sea, or walk the coastal path to the neighbouring villages — we're always happy to suggest a route. Barton on Sea also has a championship-standard golf course.

Along the coast

Within twenty minutes: Milford on Sea, Highcliffe, Mudeford, Christchurch and Lymington, all with cafés, restaurants and shops, and great for crabbing or hiring a small boat when the sun shines. Bournemouth is about half an hour; Southampton and Portsmouth a little further. The New Forest National Park is on the doorstep — cycle routes, riding trails and walks for every mood.
